Pyramid Head

Pyramid Head is an antagonist from the video game Silent Hill 2. He is the manifestation of James Sunderland’s guilt and subconscious thoughts. I personally fell in love with his character design. It is very unique and uncanny. He looks like a human, but instead of having a face, he has this abstract shape on his head. His only purpose is to punish James, until the truth is fully revealed,, which I find very interesting.

Jennifer

Jennifer is such a complex and lovely character from The Rule Of Rose. Her trauma and guilt is being portrayed in such a beautiful, but tragic way. She isn’t like any horror protagonist, she is actually fearful and realistic. Jennifer is also one of the first queer female characters in the genre of horror video games. Wendy’s and Jennifer’s relationship was so bittersweet, it left me with tears. Their love reminds me of my first sapphic crush (which didn’t end well). She was my best friend, and funnily she looked like Wendy a lot. Sigh…

Leon S. Kennedy

Leon S. Kennedy is one of the most popular characters appearing in the Resident Evil- franchise. His first appearance is from the game Resident Evil 2 (1998). A lot of people love Leon because of his cold and badass personality, but I don’t see it that way. He battled evil forces, witnessed multiple deaths, got betrayed and lost his innocence as a young, rookie cop. His story is heartbreaking, making this “cold and badass” act his trauma response. He deserves so much better, so please for the love of God, don’t make him suffer anymore Capcom… Other things I love about Leon, is his sense of humour, character design (that man is sooo finee) and his very interesting choices of combat.

Madotsuki

Madotsuki is the protagonist of the game Yume Nikki. I just adore this little cutie.. and honestly as a dreamer myself, I see a lot of similarities between us. I also see very weird and disturbing dreams, I even get lost in them. She’s literally me!

Heather/Cheryl Mason

Heather Mason is the main protagonist of the game Silent Hill 3. She’s very different from the franchise’s past protagonists. Not only because she’s a teenage girl, but also because of her connection to Silent Hill. Her fears and flaws are personal, but very relatable as a young woman myself. Symbolism of stalkers, bodily autonomy and self-image,, it’s just clever. Her character design is amazing as well. Her style is quite awkward, rebellious and very teen-like. Personally I think Heather Mason is the best written Silent Hill protagonist, probably even one of the best written characters of all time. Love ya Heather/Cheryl !!
